New signage erected to mark Letterkenny Tidy Towns success

Mayor of Letterkenny Municipal District Cllr Gerry McMonagle with council colleagues, staff and Letterkenny Tidy Towns and Chamber of Commerce committee members at the official unveiling of the new signage last Monday.

 

New ‘Letterkenny Tidy Towns Sign/ Ireland’s Tidiest Town’ signage to mark the recent success have been erected at strategic locations around the town.

 

Mayor and elected members of Letterkenny Municipal District along with representatives from the Letterkenny Tidy Towns group, the local Chamber of Commerce as well as officials from Donegal County Council were on hand on Monday to officially unveil this signage which will be used to welcome visitors to Ireland’s tidiest town.

 

It also recognises the hard work of the local Tidy Towns group and residents associations in achieving this accolade.

Cllr Gerry McMonagle, Mayor of Letterkenny Municipal District said the new signage was a vote of confidence in the town and recognition of all the work done down the years to achieve this tremendous success. 

 

He added that it was hoped the success would contribute to the continuing drive to attract visitors to the area and encourage the maintenance of the Tidy Town standards set in 2015.
